A Profile – Me

This is me here just a few minutes after I was pulled from my Mummy’s tummy. I was born on January 19th 2012 at 1.41am. I was a bit scared at first as it was very bright and very cold, but I felt much better when Mummy and Daddy were allowed to cuddle me. They put this hat on me, and everyone seemed to like it, I became a mini celebrity!!!

I did not weigh very much when I was born. I was only 4lb 14 oz’s (2.23kilos), and as I was a bit cold the doctors put me in an incubator and took me to NICU (neo natal intensive care) so they could keep an eye on me.

So what can I tell you about myself? I might be small, but I am a tough little thing. I know what I like, and what I don’t like, and I don’t mind letting you know. The things I like are lights (I especially like looking at the venetian blinds when they are open at home), I like music, my sensory umbrella…look here it is:

it has lots of bright and sparkly things in it, and I love sitting underneath it and looking at them. I also like sweet food, banana is yummy. My favouritest thing in the whole world though is cuddles. I love them.

Things I don’t like are my car seat, I get very grumpy when I have to go in that. I hate my feeding tube and will do anything I can to pull it out. I also get a bit grumpy in the bath. I dislike being fed (unless it is sweet stuff) and I scream a lot during my feeds.

I was born with dark hair, although as I got a little older it started to turn ginger. I have bright blue sparkly eyes (my Mummy and Daddy say they are radiant). I clench my fists a lot, although I do have one pointy finger, and I do like to point a lot or flick it across my face (especially if I have that nasty feeding tube in). Due to my syndrome I also have rocker bottom feet and low set ears, however my features are very delicate I am told, and Mummy says that I am really beautiful. My name is Welsh, and it means loved.
